Hallo Pink Floyd-Fans: hier kommt das erste Pink Floyd-Album ohne Pink Floyd seit langer Zeit, trotzdem und gerade deshalb ist es eine Sensation! Die Musik dieses gigantischen Liveauftrittes vom 26. August 2006 in der Schiffswerft in Danzig hat natürlich eine klare Färbung durch David Gilmour, sie wirkt lässiger und flüssiger, mit sehr runden Solis und weniger opulent als Pink Floyd sich seinerzeit präsentierte. Und dennoch weiß Gilmour mit seiner Band (plus Baltic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra) zu faszinieren, 50.000 begeisterte Fans feierten ihn an diesem Abend. Vor dieser eindrucksvollen Kulisse (das 20-seitige Booklet gibt einen kleinen Eindruck davon!) gab er das Abschlusskonzert seiner 2006er Tour, zu hören sind natürlich viele Pink Floyd-Klassiker, aber auch jede Menge Songs aus seinem letzten Album „On An Island“. Auf LP 5 sind unveröffentlichte Tracks von anderen Liveauftritten, darunter eine tolle Live-Akustikversion von „Echoes“ in den Abbey Road-Studios sowie ganz neue Jamsessions aus dem Jahre 2007, insgesamt rund 2 Stunden und 41 Minuten Spieldauer! Zbigniew Preisner, who was responsible for the arrangements on Gilmour's On an Island, conducts the Baltic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra here does not detract nor overpower.
