Description
Up for bid is Charlie Mingus - Pithecanthropus Erectus. I am far from expert when it comes to vinyl, but I believe this is the first printing. "Atlantic 1237" appears on both the back of the cover and on the black label of the record. As a non-audiophile, I'm not sure how to grade condition on this, so I will try to be specific and allow you to draw your own conclusions. The cover has some mild scuffs to the corners, but there are no splits along the edges. A price is written (in what appears to be pencil) on the back cover beneath the 1237. Also, there is a small area on the front where the lamination has lifted. The record itself appears to have a few very short, very superficial scratches. I played the entire album - both sides, on an inexpensive turntable and it sounded fine - not scratchy and with no skips or other problems that I was able to detect.
