COMUS "First Utterance" 1970/1 ORIGINAL GATEFOLD LP on Dawn Records DNLS 3019.

This rare album was a free promotion copy from the Red Bus Company who were Comus' agents in early 1971 and at that time I was involved in putting bands on at University. My memory of events from 40 years ago is a little vague !!!!! but I think this was handed out to guests of Red Bus at the old Marquee Club in Wardour Steet when Comus and other Red Bus artists played. Unlike later issues there was never a lyrics sheet.  Anyway, it has been in my collection ever since.

This version has the original gatefold sleeve with the front cover art by Roger Wootton (lead vocalist) and inner colour art by Glen Goring (guitar). The outer cover is a little grubby and shows some wear on the spine. The inner have just a few minor marks.  I have attempted to show this on the photos. The vinyl is in excellent conditon - a few surface marks - and it plays fine. The vinyl is numbered DNLS3019A-3*T. In original plain paper 1970s inner sleeve.

Very few copies of this original Comus LP exist and whenever one comes to market it commands a high price.
