THE BEATLES - 'REVOLVER'
This scarce UK 1st STEREO pressing dates from late 1966 and is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 7009

Both labels bear the 'Sold in UK....' text & have 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd...' worded rims.

The side 2 label carries the 'Doctor Robert' spelling and a 'KT' purchase tax code.

Matrix numbers: YEX 605-1 & YEX 606-1

Stamper codes: 1/MT & 1/RH

Vinyl weight: 148g

Housed within a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo cover, complete with 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve.

Labels: EXCELLENT -

A clean & unworn side 1 label but side 2 bears a number of clumsy spindle trails and slight wear to the centre hole.

Visual: Side 1 EXCELLENT - Side 2 EXCELLENT

At first glance in strong daylight both playing surface appear pristine with just a couple of harmless light marks from inner-sleeve removal and no scratches anywhere. However, close examination reveals two 'clouded' areas on side 1 (possibly as a result of exposure to heat)which run over the final 3 track on that side in two different places. Inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp highlights these areas but add only a few harmless wispy paper hairlines and a sparkling rainbow shine and both sides of the disc lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Sound Quality: Side 1 EXCELLENT - Side 2 EXCELLENT

This respectable sounding copy has in no way been overplayed and is still an enjoyable listen. the aforementioned 'clouding' issue causes a light 'swish' beginning towards the end of 'Here , there & Everywhere', through 'Yellow Submarine' but is not audible on 'She Said, She Said'. Apart from this minor audible blemish & a touch of low-level vinyl background between tracks, the entire album is free form any clicks, pops or any other audible distraction or fault.

Cover: EXCELLENT

A strong & overall clean example which retains a bright & clean front panel free from any 'thumbnails' or heavy spine bends. There is a bruise to the lower right corner but all others are shape and unbumped. There is a trace of wear to the rear opening edge but certainly no tears or feathering. The rear panel is black where it should be with no ringwear, writing or missing paper. All flipbacks are full intact with just a little age-toning along the edge of the upper one.

Both seams are smooth and unstressed and the spine is clean & fully worded.

Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD +

Light storagewear wrinkles but no writing, tears or seam splits.
