Description
Complete & original heavyweight vinyl black & gold Parlophone label 1st UK STEREO pressing of ‘The Beatles - Please Please Me’. This of course has all the usual 1st pressing credit errors of the 1st label black & gold Parlophone label that incorrectly credited Dick James for the publishing rights on many tracks before the error was spotted and corrected for the 2nd black & gold press.
The sleeve is also a 1st press ‘Gold’ sleeve printed by Earnest J. Day Co. Ltd, can be identified by the"Photo: Angus McBean" credit alignment on the front bottom right corner, which begins where the "s" of songs end. On the second issue sleeves, the credit was moved further to the left aligning with the “g”.
Serial number: PCS 3402
Matrix number: YEX 94-1, YEX 95-1
Stamper codes: 1 R, 1 G
Tax Code: ZMT, Side 1
Condition:
The vinyl has lots of marks and signs of wear, GOOD PLUS! It plays through remarkably well. Background crackle mostly in between tracks and in quiet passages, no skips or sticks. Nice! The 1st press 'Gold' sleeve is nice and glossy on the front, light discolouration and signs of handling on the back, no seam splits, fully readable spine, VERY GOOD! Original Emitex inner included without splits. A rare chance to own a highly collectable 1st UK STEREO hot off the press!
