An Accurate Description of The Beatles FIRST UK Demo 45:
With only 250 reported to have been issued, it's not surprising that this Original 1962 UK Parlophone Beatles DEMO Vinyl 45 entitled ‘Love Me Do/PS I Love You’ is considered **ONE OF THE RAREST** Beatles Records in the World today.
This extremely sought after record was **THE VERY FIRST BEATLES DEMO** to have been issued by Parlophone in 1962 to promote The Beatles DEBUT single 'LOVE ME DO'. The Vinyl 45 is on the Official Parlophone Label with a white background and a large Red 'A' printed on the A-side. Paul McCartney's name is MIS-SPELT on both sides of the record labels, reading 'McArtney'. The B-side displays a Custom White Parlophone label with Black print. Both sides of the record labels are printed 'The Parlophone Co Ltd' label rim together with the wording 'Ardmore & Beechwood', and 'Demonstration Record Not For Sale' in black print.
The Demo comes in an Original Colourful and RARE Parlophone 'TOP POP' Sleeve. (Please note that Top Pop sleeves are extremely difficult to find in any condition. Only a few of these SPLENDID sleeves were issued at the time, specifically aimed at Radio Station DJs for Promotional Purposes only, and as you can imagine, most were discarded at the time).
Official Dead Wax Matrix and Stamper information:
The official side 1 matrix number is: 7XCE 17144-1N/Side 2 Matrix: 7XCE 17145-1N. The side 1 stampers are: 'ZT', 'JR'/Side 2 stampers: 'ZT', 'JR'. The letters 'ZT' are embossed to the centre of the A-side record label.
Grading Assessment:
Both sides of the record labels are Truly FINE examples, in excellent plus condition, free from any scuffs or tearing, showing just a little inevitable faint signs of storage to the white areas. There is a small red marker spot above the B-side title, otherwise NO writing, NO stickers and NO markings of any kind. Both sides of the Vinyl disc are in the FINEST condition that we have seen for a very long while, in EXCEPTIONAL excellent plus condition. Both sides of the Vinyl are BRIGHT and UNWORN, showing only a couple of extremely light surface lines, otherwise NO scuffs and NO deep scratches or wear - AWESOME condition. The SERIOUSLY RARE and Original 'Top Pop' sleeve is a Truly RESPECTABLE example, and certainly the finest we have come across, with NO tearing, NO seam splits and NO handwriting .
Play Quality:
Both sides of the Demo play EXTREMELY WELL. There are NO clicks, NO Pops, NO Jumps or Skips, all that can be heard is just some mild background crackle to both tracks. The 45 sits 100% flat on the turntable with NO dishing or Warping.
Obviously, a GREATLY RARE opportunity to purchase what can only be described as the **CROWN JEWEL** of any Serious Beatles collection. With only 250 reported to have been issued, one can only speculate as to how few of these are actually in existence around the World today - it can't be many, and its not surprising, therefore, that this SUPREME RARITY is Hardly ever seen. Not to be missed, this is the most IMPRESSIVE example of this Beatles Rarity that we have seen in the past 5 years!
