BEATLES 45

METAL STAMPER

" PLEASE PLEASE ME"

Very Rare Vee Jay 45 Metal Stamper (A-Side)

... produced in 1963

NM

Original ... from Vee Jay

This is a ONE-OF-A-KIND extremely RARE collectible.

If you wish to make an offer, NO LOW BALLING PLEASE.

Only serious offers will be considered. Thank you!

To the best of our knowledge, this and several other "Vee Jay STAMPERS" were originally

discovered as a part of a liquidation of many Vee Jay items, when Vee Jay originally went

out of business. They had been instructed to destroy all of these STAMPERS, in accordance

with their famous lawsuit, however it appears that ONLY the ones that were destroyed were

for "BEATLES VJ LPS" like "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES"Version 1 featuring

"LOVE ME DO & P.S. I LOVE YOU", and Version 2 which featured "PLEASE PLEASE

ME & ASK ME WHY", both of which bore Catalog Number VJ-1062, also "THE BEATLES

AND FRANK IFIELD ON STAGE" (JOLLY WHAT! COVER) as well as the PORTRAIT

COVER version, both of which bore Catalog Number VJ-1085. The only other Beatles LP

STAMPER that existed back then was for "HEAR THE BEATLES TELL ALL" which bore

Catalog Number Vee Jay PRO-202.

This STAMPER was used for a FIRST PRESSING on or about February 7, 1963 of the record

VJ-498, "PLEASE PLEASE ME" (A-Side). Only a grand total of 7,310 of these records were ever pressed according to Vee Jay documents. Obviously legal instruction to destroy all of the Vee

Jay METAL STAMPERS as well as MOTHERS, was not obeyed.

NOTE:  Vee Jay, like most small independent labels, never pressed their own records. They had all

Metal parts sent to regional factories for manufacture. Records were sent directly from the designated pressing plant to the distributors, who then sent them to retailers and other distributors. In 1963, Vee Jay had used three separate pressing plants; THE AMERICAN RECORD PRESSING COMPANY in Owosso, Michigan, MONARCH RECORDS in Los Angeles, California, and SOUTHERN PLASTICS, Nashville,Tennessee.

So good luck to anyone searching for these rare BEATLES 45rpm stampers!

REMINDER TO ALL PERSPECTIVE BUYERS:   Pricing is based upon a number of factors such as condition, edition, quantities produced and existing price guides. Some price guides in today's market have not been updated for over 15 years, therefore they are not to be taken literally since the market has changed drastically in that time, especially with respect to BEATLES VINYL, most of which has become much more highly sought after. The rarest BEATLES VINYL has become more difficult to locate in prime condition since it appears that collectors of original pressings from the mid 1960s, seem to be holding on to their collections more so today than ever before. We appreciate your viewing our collectibles at this time and we welcome any and all reasonable offers. We will continue to post more BEATLES RARE VINYL in the future. If you have any questions at all, please ask. Thank you for your attention and we look forward to hearing from you.

In addition to records and CDs, we have a number of other collectibles available, much of which are not listed. But if you are looking for a specific items and don't see it, we would be happy to search our inventory and LIST IT HERE ON EBAY FOR YOU! Thanks for watching!

NOTE:  Although HANDLING TIME is sometimes listed as 5 DAYS, we would normally make every effort to ship in 3 DAYS or LESS.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  We do NOT accept RETURNS. ALL SALES ARE FINAL! NO EXCEPTIONS! We ask that prior to purchasing, you understand completely and precisely, what it is that you are buying. Read our description carefully. Ask questions. Request additional photos. Do NOT purchase unless you are certain. In the past, we have had far too many buyers make a purchase, receive the item, then tell us that it was not the item they were necessarily looking for.
