Beatles LP Meet the Beatles RARE THIN FONT MONO VG+/VG++

This week, among other nice finds, there are several Beatles mono LP’s for sale.  Covers vary in condition, but all the vinyl grade from VG+ to really nice VG++.  None are NM, but most of these will be keeper copies for those who can’t afford stone mint copies for their collection.  Be sure to have a look at them all.

Vinyl--- LA.  Some would grade this LP VG++.  Under normal room lighting as well as under the bare bulb, you will only find very fine hairlines on both sides.  Mostly original shine, however.  Nice copy, not NM.

Plates--- F13/G14

Cover--- Good-looking cover.  Retains an awful lot of original whiteness from its original issue.  NO dirtwear or ringwear to the front black cover, a little dulling and dirt to the back white cover.  However, there are some stains to the back bottom cover.  Front bottom also has this.  All three seams still strong, however there is shelfwear, some crackling to the spine and missing slick to top and bottom seams.  Bottom seam is starting to split.

Labels--- EXCESSIVELY rare mono labels with the smaller and thinner font.  These labels were printed in-house from the Jacksonville, Ill. plant who, for some reason must have shipped a small quantity of their labels to LA.  I have only seen maybe three examples of this label in mono, and none in stereo in 40 years of collecting.  Labels are NM store-stock new-looking. 

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Original LA thumb tab blue sleeve is present, NO split seams.

RIAA: 3

For decades, I thought that this would be my keeper copy since it is so nice.  But I recently picked up a true NM copy, so someone else should have this one to proudly own for their collection.

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!) 

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
