But this pressing is SPECIAL! This is a RARE CAPITOL RECORD CLUB PRESSING of this LP.

CAPITOL RECORD CLUB PRESSINGS have their own special catalog number with an “8” preceding the original LP catalog number. This LP’s catalog number is SMAS 82386.

And this Record Club LP also comes with its CUSTOM RECORD CLUB COVER!! According to Perry Cox, “most (record club) copies were issued with standard Capitol covers.” “Some records came with a custom record club cover.” The COVER in this auction is the CUSTOM RECORD CLUB COVER with “82386” printed on the spine.

There is also printing at the bottom of the rear cover that reads "MANUFACTURED UNDER LICENSE FROM CAPITOL RECORDS, INC., HOLLYWOOD AND VINE STREETS, HOLLYWOOD, CALIF.". This "manufactured under license" printing also identifies this LP as a Capitol Record Club issue.

THIS RARE CAPITOL RECORD CLUB PRESSING IS IN MINT STILL SEALED CONDITION in its ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP. There are just a couple of VERY SMALL pushes on a couple of the corners and a couple of VERY SMALL splits in the shrink wrap on the spine that are visible in the image of the spine.

Capitol Record Club LPs were produced from 1969 to 1972. Early 1969 issues had black labels with rainbow color-bands and Capitol “dome” logos. In late 1969, the label was changed to green with a “C” Capitol logo. I DON’T KNOW WHICH CAPITOL RECORD CLUB ISSUE, BLACK LABELS OR GREEN LABELS, IS ON THE VINYL INSIDE THE COVER. (Sometimes in the past I have used my IFM Optics Handheld HD Endoscope, made small a 4-6 inch split in the shrink wrap along the center of the opening, spread the cover slightly, and inserted the snake-neck camera to see the labels. However, I found the procedure somewhat more difficult with the thicker gatefold covers, so I decided not to try it on this still-sealed gatefold cover LP.) I read somewhere on-line that the covers of the “HELP!” black-label record club issues did not have the catalog number printed on the spine, but that the “HELP!” Green-label record club issues did. However, I can’t confirm it.

The Beatles’ CAPITOL RECORD CLUB PRESSINGS have become VERY DESIRABLE to collectors for their RARITY due to the very limited quantities pressed. (You HAD to be a member of the Capitol Record Club to originally purchase and have this LP shipped to you!! You could NOT walk into a record store and purchase it off the rack.)

Mint Still Sealed Original Beatles LPs are certainly not common these days. So, you can bet that Mint Still Sealed Original Beatles Capitol Record Club LP Issues are even MUCH LESS COMMON than the original LP issues.
