Description
This is a rare issue of Brunswick Topics, a promotional magazine published by Brunswick-Balke-Collander to promote their 78 rpm records, both new issues and back catalog. The magazines were distributed through their dealer network, and they printed the name of the dealer on bottom of the front cover. This particular issue came from The Euclid Music Co., Cleveland, Ohio. This is a sixteen page magazine counting the covers. It is Vol. 3, No. 6, with a printing date of April 23, 1929. Brunswick Topics featured both the records and the recording artists with short biographies and colorful human interest stories, and lots of pictures. The middle column is called Cinema and Song and talks about Brunswick artists who are getting their songs into the new talkies, such as Al Jolson. The Just Chatter Column promotes mostly hot jazz and blues new releases. There is also a full page listing of recent releases by record number. It contains lots of forgotten fox trots, old time country, and all Brunswick releases since March 1, 1929. This magazine is a great reference for record collectors.
