Lustmord - Zoetrope 2LP NEU/NEW

Label: Burning World

Jahr: 2009

Format: Doppel-LP Burning World records is extremely proud to be able to release a full-length endeavor by Lustmord for the first time in 26 years. Especially for the double vinyl release, the never before released track "the abhorrent apparatus" will see the light.Williams started recording as Lustmord in 1980 before joining SPK in1982. Lustmord has extracted field recordings made in crypts, caves, and slaughterhouses, and combined it with occasional ritualistic incantations and Tibetan horns. His treatments of acoustic phenomena encased in digitally expanded bass rumbles have a dark ambient quality. Some of Lustmord's most notable collaborations include Robert Rich on the critically acclaimed "Stalker", Jarboe, John Balance of Coil, Monte Cazazza, Clock DVA, Chris & Cosey, Paul Haslinger and experimental sludge group The Melvins on 'Pigs Of The Roman Empire'. Williams released the album "Heresy", considered a milestone of the genre of dark ambient, in 1990. Williams has contributed to 44 Hollywood film soundtracks as Music Sound designer and occasionally as Additional Composer, most notably on The Crow and Underworld. Zoetrope (1999) is an experimental avant-garde short film by music-video director Charlie Deaux. It presents a haunting, apocalyptic story of man's metaphysical existence. Inspired by Franz Kafka's story In the Penal Colony, the film is an attempt to transfer Kafka's dark, nightmarish vision and gloomy atmosphere to celluloid. Music-video cinematographer James Hawkinson shot the film. The 3D animation for the film was created by Robert Beebe. Shot on 35mm film on extremely smooth black-and-white stock, the film features dark and surreal visuals. This 18-minute work features a dark ambient soundscape by musician and sound designer Lustmord (also known as Brian Williams) and was released on DVD in 2005 by Soleilmoon Recordings. Discography: A document of early acoustic and tactical experimentation, Paradise disowned, Heresy, The monstrous souls, The place where the balck stars hang, Strange attractor, Lustmord vs. metal beast, Purifying fire, Metavoid, Zoetrope, Carbon/Core, Pigs of the roman empire (with The Melvins), Lustmord rising, Juggernaut, [Other], D is for diubby, The dark places of the earth, [Beyond], [Other dub], [Transmuted], Heretic, Besides his regular albums there are numerous collaborations, soundtracks and compilations contributions.
