Condition / grading policy

Vinyl: Excellent (some marks from the paper sleeve but no scratches)

Cover: Excellent (light creases & storage wear)

Labels: Near Mint

I am a private collector who sells records and CDs to fund my own buying. All records and CDs are graded conservatively under a strong light source. I use the Record Collector Magazine's grading guide and do not list a used record or CD as mint unless they look genuinely new and un-played.

New: still sealed.

M:  Mint. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as sealed or un-played should be Mint.

NM: Near Mint. Would otherwise be mint apart from one or two tiny inconsequential flaws e.g. spindle marks on the label.

E: Excellent. The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VG: Very Good. The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

G: Good. The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

F: Fair. The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

P: Poor. The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

B: Bad. The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.

For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - may be added to the grading.

In addition to the basic grading, any individual faults will be noted separately such as if an otherwise excellent cover has a name written on it, or a 7" single is missing its original centre etc.

Postage, Payment and Delivery Information

Payment is requested please within 7 days of the end of the auction or the ‘buy-it-now’. If no payment or contact is made after 5 days, I will send a reminder. If there is still no contact or payment, an unpaid Item dispute will be opened to recover fees charged by EBay. This may result in unpaid strike for the non-payer.

Packages posted within the UK are not treated as lost until 15 working days (Mon-Sat) after the due delivery date.

If the total purchase price is £20 or more, please note I will only offer ‘International Signed For’ to overseas customers to comply with PayPal guidelines. This currently provides insurance up to £50 should the package be lost in transit. For purchase prices over £50, I would ask the buyer to wait for an invoice before making their payment. 

Please note that items sent by ‘International Signed For’ are not treated as lost until 25 working days (Mon-Sat) after the postage date. Please note I always obtain proof of posting.

All records are sent in record mailers with protective cardboard stiffeners for additional protection.

UK - All records are sent by Royal Mail 1st Class ‘Recorded Delivery’ (packet) - £4.00 for the first record.

Europe - Standard Airmail (small packet) - £5.50
Europe - ‘International Signed For’ (small packet) - £10.65

Rest of the world - Standard Airmail (small packet) - £8.50
Rest of the world - ‘International Signed For’ (small packet) - £13.65

I will combine shipping to keep costs down so please contact me for a price if you are thinking of purchasing multiple items. (Please note double 12” / LP's count as 2 records).

Please note international customers outside of the EU are responsible for their country's import or custom charges.

Returns are accepted and a refund will be given if the item is received back in the same condition that it was dispatched. Please note that the buyer is responsible for the cost of returning the item.
