Up for grabs is a really nice and super super rare ORIGINAL ACETATE pressing of a true mega classic lp by BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN entitled BORN TO RUN (NO CREDIT TO THIS ACTUAL ALBUM TITLE, BUT IT IS CLEAR FROM TRACK LISTING - original CUTTING ROOM label, no identifying marks (i.e. numbers or letters) on run out grooves.
This is a once in a lifetime Bruce Springsteen rarity!  I've seen only one other one like this (back in 2008) and this acetate has a different track order than both the previous acetate and what became the track order (and listing) of the final product!  The song "THE HEIST (TAKE 5)" is actually what would become to be known on the album as "MEETING ACROSS THE RIVER".  This doesn't appear to be a different version of the song as it appears on the BORN TO RUN album.  However, it could be a slightly different mix (horns seem a bit lower in the mix on the acetate).  The other songs on the acetate appear to be the same versions as what would appear on the final lp also, but again might be different mixes. All in all, this is the kind of rarity you aren't likely to find anytime soon!  Do not sleep on this one!

CAME IN PLAIN MANILLA ENVELOPE STYLE THICK PAPER SLEEVE IN DECENT SHAPE;  A BIT DIRTY, PERHAPS WATER DAMAGED & HAS FAINT RINGWEAR FRONT/BACK.I WILL PUT THIS IN A PLAIN CARDBOARD 12" JACKET (AND NEW PAPER SLEEVE INNER) WHEN I SHIP IT OUT FOR ADDED PROTECTION.  ORIGINAL PAPER SLEEVE HAS NO MARKINGS OR IDENTIFIERS PERTAINING TO THIS SUPER RARITY ON IT!
ORIGINAL THICK/HEAVY ACETATE VINYL IS IN VG- TO VG CONDITION; VISUALLY THERE ARE LOTS OF LIGHT/FAINT MINOR SCUFFS THAT ON A NORMAL LP WOULD NOT AFFECT PLAY MUCH, BUT THIS IS AN ACETATE & REALLY NOT MEANT TO BE PLAYED REPEATEDLY LIKE A NORMAL LP.
A NOTE ABOUT ACETATES : Playing acetate records. Since they were actually cut on a machine, and the recording surface is soft, repeated playing decreases the sound quality. Considering that most of the acetates you will find have been used, there will be a bit of a hiss to them. This is no fault of the engineering; acetate records were not designed for repeated use.
I PLAYED BOTH SIDES THROUGH AND DIDN'T ENCOUNTER ANY SKIPS OR JUMPS WHATSOEVER, BUT SOME NEEDLES MAY BE MORE SENSITIVE THAN OTHERS SO CAN'T GUARANTEE YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME LUCK.  SURPRISINGLY SOUNDS PRETTY GREAT FOR AN ACETATE WITH A BIT OF SURFACE NOISE/HISS/DISTORTION (PARTICULARLY IN QUIETER SECTIONS OF LP).   IN ANY CASE, THIS ACETATE SHOULD REALLY NOT BE PLAYED & PURCHASED FOR TRUE COLLECTABILITY SAKE!  A REALLY NICE COPY OF THIS TRUE RARITY FOR SURE!
AGAIN, DON'T SLEEP ON THIS ONE!  A TRUE MUST FOR ANY SPRINGSTEEN FANATIC!!
