Description
BOYD BENNETT & HIS ROCKETS (vocals by BIG MOE) my boy – flat top/banjo rock and roll. This is the original UK 7-inch MEGA RARE SINGLE, issued in 1956 on the PARLOPHONE LABEL (Matrix numbers are 7XCE 1407 – IN and 7XCE 1408 – IN. Record is the VERY RARE GOLD PARLOPHONE LETTERING label print.
The record labels are both EXCELLENT, with all the print clearly visible (THE ORIGINAL RECORD’S INCOME TAX STICKER IS STILL ON THE LABEL!). Spindle holes show very light playing with no spindle hole wear. If you look at the SUPERSIZE PICS you can even see part of the spindle hole edge on the A-side still has some GOLD print.
The record playing surfaces stills retain there original bright sheen, however there are some surface marks visible although these are definitely not excessive and are lightly scattered (visually I would grade this as VERY GOOD+++). Most of the surface marks are ultra light fine line/hairline surface scuff types, with about three small ones that are more evident, again there is nothing that is heavy and nothing that you can feel!!!!! Record plays with a VERY GOOD++ sound on both sides, there is some slight back ground crackles when played on both sides, there is no surface noise, no bad crackles, no bad clicks, and the record does not jump. This really is a stunning looking record for its age, and the best copy I’ve ever seen, and comes complete with it’s original PARLOPHONE RECORD COMPANY SLEEVE!
