PMC 1206 "With The Beatles"

Contract Pressing:
The Beatles second album pressed by the DECCA Record Company.

Due to overwhelming demand for this album in the run up to Christmas 63, the EMI presses were unable to keep up with demand, so they turned to rival DECCA and contracted them to press a quantity to help fulfill demand.

These DECCA pressings differ from the regular EMI pressings by way of a central boss, that is evident in the label.  This is an indented ridge approximately 15mm from the label outside edge.

Due to a confidentiality agreement no quantities of DECCA pressings are known, but it can't be many, as they hardly ever turn up for sale.  Its estimated as probably no more than 5% of total pressings

Vinyl disc and labels EX+
The heavy vinyl is clean and bright with a beautiful shine, no scratches or wear are visible on either side in normal daylight conditions.  Under halogen light inspection the normal bag rash hair lines can be seen, but no serious marks or scratches.  Label’s are equally bright and clean with crisp spindle holes.  The disc is perfectly flat, and plays with little deterioration in original quality.

Laminated flipback sleeve EX+
Very clean, without any yellowing.   A couple of very tiny laminate wrinkles, as can be seen on the actual sleeve photo.  The back is clean and white without discolouration.  No writing or repairs. Flipbacks are undamaged and intact.

Original white inner in excellent condition.

Its unusual to see an original Beatles album in such a marvelous condition.   Finding a 44 year old Beatles album in this condition is a rarity itself, but a DECCA pressed example is almost impossible.
