THE BEATLES - 'WITH THE BEATLES'
1963 UK 2nd PRESS *MONO* LP
**DECCA 'CONTRACT' PRESSING**
This rare Decca contract pressing from 1963 is in mono on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1206
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry 'Parlophone Co..' rims.
The distinctive 'Decca ridge' runs around the labels, 1cm in from the edge.
There is no tax/price code visible on either label.
Housed in a rarer front laminated, tri-flipback 'E.J. Day' printed mono cover.
The rear carries the correct 'You Really Got A Hold On Me' spelling.
Complete with its original polylined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 447-7N & XEX 448-7N
Stamper numbers: 3,9 & 4

Visual: EXCELLENT
Clean bright & glossy surfaces with no significant wear visible in daylight on either side.
Close & careful inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals some wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no major marks or any scratches.
100% flat both sides on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD PLUS
Although frequently played, there is no major deterioration to the sound quality.
Apart from some light groovewear on 'Til There Was You' and some minor background between tracks, there is little to fault.
There are no clicks, jumps or any other audible faults anywhere.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A very clean, strong & unyellowed example bearing just a few small wrinkles to the front panel laminate, but no major wear.
All corners are clean and unbumped and both opening edges are clean, sharp & unworn.
The rear panel is bright white with no dicolouration, writing or missing paper.
Despite a minor repair to the lower flipback corner, all are intact.
Both seams & the spine are strong, unstressed & unsplit.
This disc has been carefully audibly graded in its entirety on a Rega P9 deck fitted with a Shelter 901 cartridge.
