BEATLES -WHITE ALBUM- EMIDISC ACETATE
On offer here is a UK Emidisc acetate that contains 11 songs from the Beatles, "White Album". This 12”, double sided,
mono,33 r.p.m. record has Emidisc label with typed titles and cut by Emidisc London. Both sides of the label there is a
stamp:20 sept 1968.The White album was released on the 22.11.68. so this acetate(according to the stamp) was cut 2 months
before the officially released Lp.Version of 8 songs sure that are different from the released one ( different starts , ends, mixes..) ,
the other ones are very similar as the released versions.Two titles are misprinted on the label(side 1): ’Rocky Racoon’ & (side 2)
’Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Donkey’.
This acetate (similar to my other acetates on ebay) came from a collection that was a part of inheritance. I managed to buy this collection a few years ago.As I know the original owner worked for EMI,Germany.I have no further information of its origin.
Condition:
This disc (which has got typical smell of acetate) is not in as perfect condition as the other acetates you can see on Ebay , however ,it is a rare item.
Side 1: There is a ’click’ at the beginning of the song ’ Rocky Raccoon’ that takes 1:12.
Side 2: The needle jumps (only once) at the end of the song ’Helter Skelter’ .
At the other songs there are no problems. As with most acetates of this age, it has got a lot of
surface marks.Visually graded VG to VG(+) , plays well with usual background crackle throughout.
