The Beatles - The Beatles

I am pleased to offer for sale this truly exceptional, one-of-a-kind example of Beatles eponymously titled ninth studio album, often known as 'The White Album'.
This truly unique record carries all the hallmarks of a true UK first pressing; top opening sleeve, 'no EMI' discs, -1 matrix numbers etc. However, as can be seen in the pictures, the sleeve features an error to the serial number in which the fourth digit (from the hundreds column) is missing. The serial number reads: No. 0004 40. By looking at the surface of the sleeve it is clear that the digit was never stamped - the ink had not run out nor has it been wiped off after production - there was simply no 'digit stamper' in the hundreds column.
I have owned literally hundreds of White Albums (and still do!) and this is the only one I have seen like it. For it to occur on any sleeve would be unique but for it to occur on a sleeve with a serial number below 5000 and with at least four zeros is incredible!  To top it off, this truly unique item is found in stunning EX audio and visual condition! More details and full audio can be found below.

Album Details:
Serial number: PMC 7067 & PMC 7068
Matrix number: XEX 709 - 1 / XEX 710 - 1 / XEX 711 - 1 / XEX 712 - 1
Mother Stampers: 1 GRT / 3 GDG / 2 PH / 1 RM
Vinyl Weight: 165g
The matrix numbers confirm that the records are both true UK 1st pressings. Consequently, the audio reproduction is fantastic! Take a listen yourself below.
The dark green Apple labels are the first variant in which the text: 'An EMI Recording' is not present on any of the four labels. This was added to subsequent variants.
As mentioned above, the record is housed within a 1st variant top opening sleeve with an extremely low 7 digit serial number: No. 0004 40. Later copies were side opening and had a six digit serial number.
This album is complete with all original inner: two die-cut black inner sleeves, 4 photo card images of the Beatles, the photo card spacer, and the large foldout poster with song lyrics on the flip-side.
Condition:
Vinyl: EXCELLENT
Labels: EXCELLENT
The labels are bright and clean without writing. Only very light spindle marks can be seen to all four sides.
Visual: EXCELLENT -

Both of the vinyl retain immaculate deep gloss playing surfaces. In bright daylight one or two light 'stylus skate' surface marks are present to all sides. None are feel-able. Under the glare of a halogen desk lamp a handful of wispy paper hairlines can be seen alongside an iridescent rainbow sheen. Superb!

Sound Quality:  EXCELLENT

Side 4:

As can be heard from the audio clips, the heavy-weight mono vinyl sounds superb! There are quiet lead-ins to all sides. Surface noise throughout the record is minimal - Blackbird is fantastic! Extremely quiet. All tracks play through with the punch and vigour that is noted of the 1st press mono recording. There are no obtrusive pops, no skips and no jumps. Very hard to find a better sounding copy of this record.

Sleeve: EXCELLENT
The extremely rare sleeve looks great. All four sides are blemish free and maintain the original brilliant white finish with just subtle signs of yellowing. The laminate retains the original lustre. There is no sign of ring wear. The spine has some laminate lift but is fully read-able. The top, bottom and opening edges show only minor wear. The corners are firm but do show signs of storage wear.
Inners: EXCELLENT +
The original inner sleeves look great. They both have small rips around the die-cut centre and opening edge. EXCELLENT. The four photo cards are NEAR MINT. The poster looks great. EXCELLENT

Additional Details:
Before the audio test, the vinyl was cleaned first by an Okki Nokki vacuum cleaner (using L'art du Son cleaning solution) and then an Audio Desk ultrasonic cleaner.
After cleaning, the vinyl is housed inside a brand new mobile fidelity anti-static inner sleeve.
The vinyl will be packaged outside of the sleeve, both of which are stored inside an archival quality polypropylene outer sleeve.
The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer.
