This is the mega rare 1963 1st Yellow & black label Parlophone UK pressing with the superfluous 331/3 text after the xex 421/422 matrix numbers on the labels (see scan) and without the more common "Recording first published.." text on the labels (which came much later) and with "The Parlophone Co.." label text around the label perimeter.
This was the 1st pressing after the Gold label pressings and is extrememly rare. The 2014 UK Rare Record Collectors' Guide identifies this as the 3rd mono pressing i.e. the 1st after the Gold label pressings.
Cover: 1st pressing E J Day 'Gold' cover with the Angus McBean credit to the far right so that the A in Angus is below the 's' in songs and not the 'g'. Laminated front and unlaminated rear with triple flip backs. No writings, doodles or seam splits. Lovely clear readable spine. Excellent condition - see photos. The cover is worth the starting price on its own.
Original EMITEX poly-lined inner sleeve: Near Mint.
Labels: VG+. Mega rare 331/3 text after the matrix numbers. A little bit of writing on both sides. No writings, doodles or stickers.
Vinyl: Play tested. Thick heavy duty vinyl. Nice sheen with just a handful of marks & light scratches. Looks VG but read on..................
The vinyl has a significant warp that causes skips/jumps and will not play properly. The vinyl is therefore a collection filler only and rates as Poor due to the warp. If you have a way of removing the warp, then you get yourself a bargain. No returns on this item due to the warp.

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is little lessening in sound quality.
Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches.
Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and more significant scratches.
Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.
Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc
Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
