BEATLES 1965 RUBBER SOUL y/b MONO loud matrix SUPERB EX+/EX
On offer is a lovely EX+/EX CONDITION The BEATLES LP entitled RUBBER SOUL released in the UK in mono on yellow-black PARLOPHONE PMC 1267 in 1965.
This is A FIRST PRESSING MONO RUBBER SOUL LP. The early FIRST PRESSINGS [such as this one for sale here] were pressed with the ‘loud mixing version’ identified by the matrix numbers XEX.579-1 and XEX.580-1.
The text ‘THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD…’ is on the disc rim and the disc labels have the text ‘SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO… ‘
· The Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd - earliest 'Patents Pending' - flip-back picture sleeve front cover is in FABULOUS EXCELLENT+ condition. The non-laminated back cover is also in great EX+ condition. The spine also is in beautiful condition too. The LP title on the spine: Rubber Soul – The Beatles looks new and fresh. All the edges and corners of the spine and the cover are of course intact and free of any unsightly blemishes. IT IS A BEAUTY!
· The original ‘USE EMITEX’ inner is also in EXCELLENT condition. This inner no longer houses the disc which is now kept in a new plain white inner to protect the disc and the original inner. Both inners will – of course - be supplied to the winner.
· The disc labels are in EXCELLENT condition and are very clear and clean: there are some tiny spindle marks.
· The disc is visually in EXCELLENT condition with a lovely sheen and clear, clean vinyl. There is a minor hairline mark on Side ONE: otherwise the vinyl would be EX+: and a hairline mark on Side One that goes straight across the disc BUT it is only on the surface and it does not affect play.
· The matrix numbers are XEX.579-1 and XEX.580-1.
· The disc sounds nice throughout. I have just test played the disc for the first time in many years and it plays beautifully with a full dynamic range on my hi-fi.
· The LP has been extremely well looked after and has been kept by me in a plastic sleeve for over 30 years which has ensured it has kept its amazingly fresh look.
Please note I have added a photo of me holding three of my current auction LPs (including this RUBBER SOUL LP) so that you can see how extremely nice and firm the spines are on these 3 original 1960s Beatles LPs from my personal collection.
Overall this is a SUPERB EX+/EX example of the FIRST PRESS ‘loud matrix’ Beatles MONO RUBBER SOUL LP on Parlophone. This beautiful condition LP has been well looked after over the years as part of my personal collection.
TRACKS ARE: Drive My Car, Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown), You Won't See Me, Nowhere Man, Think For Yourself, The Word, Michelle. Side 2: What Goes On?, Girl, I'm Looking Through You, In My Life, Wait, If I Needed Someone, Run For Your Life
