Description

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen here we have Three super rare pieces of Beatles recording memorabillia. Here we have three BBC Transcription Discs all linked to the Beatles in some way!! All these discs are the real thing and on the original Green/Yellow/White labels. These are super rare pieces of Beatles memorabillia and should not be missed. This could be the only chance to own these and are worth the experience. I am offering these with a realistic start price and NO RESERVE. Insured postage as standard.

Disc 128659:

On Side one is the first part of an interview with George Martin entitled "The Beatles" the interviewer is Keith Skews and tells the story of the Beatles from the perspective of George Martin and in his own words. This also contains The Beatles songs; Love Me Do, Please Please Me, She Loves You, If I Fell, Norweigan Wood & a snippett of Comm Gibb Mir Deine Hand.

On Side two is a programme entitled 'What Happened To Hancock?' which is a programme to do with the life and times of Tony Hancock.

Disc 128660:

On Side one is part two of the interview with George Martin entitled "The Beatles" it continues from the perspective of George Martin and includes the songs; Eleanor Rigby (in which there is a small click), Yesterday, Strawberry Fields Forever, A Day In The Life & Because. The interview ends talking about Abbey Road which would suggest to me that these two discs date from 1969/70.

On Side two is a programme entitled "A Story Of Our Time: Brian Jones" which is all about the life and times of the late Stones guitarist. The programme is introduced by Michael Whale and includes various people talking about Brian including; Lewis Jones (Father), Cliff Richard, Mick Jagger, Alexis Corner & Michael Aldrid. This interview includes a very grainy version of 'The Last Time' and the show begins with the end of 'Satisfaction'.

Disc 117864:

The most interesting thing about this disc is on side one and is entitled "Songwriters Extraordinary - Lennon And McCartney" the programme lasts (13' 15") and is John Lennon and Paul McCartney interviewed by Keith Fordyce. I have recentley found out that this particular programme was recorded on the 6/8/66 at Pauls House in St. Johns Wood and was broadcast on 29/8/66 on Bank Holiday Monday on the BBC Overseas Forces Radio. The rest of the disc has programmes entitled 'The Professional Sportsman', 'Close-Up Of A Scientist - Sir Peter Medawar' & ' The Undercrowded Ark'. To be honest i relly havent payed much attention to these programmes as it is the Lennon/McCartney interview that is the most important.

All Three discs are in superb condition with only the aforementioned click on part two of the George Martin Interview through Eleanor Rigby, they all sound crisp and clear and look superb. All discs are housed in their original BBC yellow sleeves. All the labels are in Near Mint condition with hardly any spindal markings at all. All the discs look to have very minimal play and look superb. These are great super rare items and hopefully will go to a serious Beatles collector. Happy Bidding.

Sound Quality: These discs sound great, crisp and clear throughout with no distortion. Stunning sound quality.
