Description

 ZOOT MONEY'S BIG ROLL BAND
'BIG TIME OPERATOR EP'

'FLORENCE OF ARABIA' & 'CHAUFFEUR' b/w
'BIG TIME OPERATOR' & 'IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME'

on Original COLUMBIA RECORDS 45RPM SEG 8519 from 1966 - NO COVER

This great keyboard-led Rhythm and Blues Mod band cut several singles in the sixties, and several gems among them too!
Zoot Money and The BIG ROLL BAND began by backing PAUL WILLIAMS where the singer got the headline billing. Sooner than later of course, that changed and it became Zoot (aka George) who got his name to the fore.
Zoot is also an excellent singer as well as piano and organ player, as these recordings prove.
Two albums ensued from The Big Roll Band, and it has to be said that their records are cohesive GROUP presentations, rather than a 'shuffle' backing band going through the motions - which is why these records are so good, and so highly revered by fans of blue-eyed soul r'n b, which defined the 'mod' genre in Britain.
This is a rare collectible, and from a great and increasingly sought-after band. Very difficult to find ... and indispensable!
This copy may well have been a radio-station demo, as there's no picture-cover... yet the disc has been preserved in spectacular condition!

The VINYL is visually NEAR MINT-, FULL shine, OUTSTANDING!
LABLES are clean NM, no stickers, or stains, only ONE spindle-line visible to suggest it has ever been even played!
A top playing copy, and very worthwhile music, by early greats on the British beat-boom scene.
