I am afraid you are going to have to do your own synopsis of XTC as I am afraid that I do not know very much about the group other than it was a rock band formed in 1972 by Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding. The band apparently never achieved much commercial success and I seem to remember they were involved in a legal action against Virgin over their contract. I don't think the band is going anymore but again you will all know more than me about all this.
This album was one that I cleared from a house in Chester where the previous owner bought LP's as they came out but didn't always get round to playing them. Judging by  the condition of the vinyl and its sleeve, I would be very surprised if this vinyl has ever been played  but of course cannot be sure. 
I have resisted the temptation to play the album myself but instead have listened to some of the band's music on utube just to remind myself of the group. Not bad stuff at all!
