Description

RICHARD BROTHERS STRATE 8 1500 FORTUNE SUBSIDIARY
DRUNK DRIVER’S COMING STOLEN PROPERTY
Great downhome blues from ROBERT RICHARD and his brother HOWARD RICHARD. Two guitar monster twin spin. 1959 vintage. Tough, cool lyrics. Very obscure artist who also played harp, and recorded on the early black and silver J-V-B and King labels. Watch for future listings of these two 78s!
Strate 8 is a small subsidiary of the legendary FORTUNE label in DETROIT.
POPSIKE indicates the last two sales as $1,691 for a VG- copy in 2014, and $1,358 for a VG++ copy in 2015. This is genuinely RARE and seldom offered for sale, especially in prime condition.
This record has been in my personal collection for many years, and is now up for AUCTION.
CONDITION: VG++ Excellent Copy
This record is absolutely original, not a repro or reissue.

Standard 45 RPM Grading:
M-   Mint Minus.   Highest grade used. Has full or nearly full luster. Little or no sign of play or handling. Highly desirable condition.
VG++   Very Good Plus Plus.   Most luster remains. Slight indications of careful play. May have mild wear or a few very light scuffs or scratches.  Very desirable condition.
VG+   Very Good Plus.   Still some luster. Shows moderate wear, minor scuffs and/or scratches not felt by touch. Still a very nice used record, acceptable to most collectors.
VG    Very Good.    Obvious groove wear with mostly grey grooves. Has the scuffs and/or scratches of an average used record. Often plays better than it looks.
V-    Very Good Minus. Record shows heavy use, deeper grey, more scuffs and scratches. Plays with more surface noise but should play through.
G   Good. A beat record that could easily skip, looks bad and is noisy.
