The Space Theatre in the Iron & Steel Pavilion was designed for the 1970 Expo in Japan. Contributions by avant-garde composers were intended to make use of the extraordinary acoustics. The Xenakis composition written specifically for the theatre is an electronic composition for 12 channels & 800 speakers. The Takahashi piece utilizes Baschet sculptures & the sound of woodwinds organized by an IBM360 computer for the space. The Takemitsu work is composed of two groups of orchestras & voices. Amazing music & audiophile quality recording! Record is in NEAR MINT + (appears unplayed) condition and beautiful illustrated gatefold jacket with OB strip is NM. Very scarce issue & seldom offered, don’t miss it.
