Promotional Apple Records DJ factory sealed copy of Wings' first album "Wild Life", released in 1971, with a promotional 0.5" punch hole in the upper right-hand corner. Please pay attention that we’ve listed a part of the large collection of Beatles solo albums and this isn’t the only promotional copy of Paul McCartney’s album currently listed at this auction. The majority of copies of “Wild Life” currently listed for sale contain one sticker, but this copy contains two hype stickers affixed to the shrink wrap. The white rectangular sticker affixed at the top of the front cover is insanely rare and has the size of 1" x 3" (2 and just over ¾ inches). This sticker is undocumented and its description is also absent in Bruce Spizer's "The Beatles Solo on Apple Records" book. For those people who didn't know about the new "Wings" band, the sticker indicated that the album was by "PAUL McCARTNEY AND FRIENDS". There're two variations of this sticker with the sticker on this copy being much rarer, treating Paul's friends with more respect and indicating "AND FRIENDS" in caps rather than small letters as seen on the other version of the sticker. The second hype sticker present on this copy and located below the undocumented sticker also has two variations. The title sticker on this copy has a dark green background and yellow "WINGS 'WILD LIFE' SW-3386" text, unlike the second sticker variation which has the washed-out colors with the tan background. If this sealed copy turns out to be the Scranton plant pressing, unlike the copies pressed at the Jacksonville and Los Angeles plant, it represents a unique collectible value as "Wild Life" was the last known Beatles solo album to be pressed there. The back cover includes the "© McCartney Productions, Inc. 1971" text in the lower left-hand corner while the lower right-hand corner contains the "An Apple Record" text, "SW 3386" catalog number and "Manufactured by Apple Records, Inc., 1700 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10019" credit. This album contains the custom Apple Records labels. The promotional copy comes with an incredibly rare original 1971 vintage 10” x 15” promotional “New Album Wings Wild Life” newspaper advert.
★
The promotional factory sealed album is in amazing Mint condition. The shrink wrap doesn't have any tears, splits or missing pieces and contains the original breathe holes, two at the bottom of the front cover. The original newspaper advert is in great vintage condition and doesn't have any tears.
