Description

This is one of the first Victor "Dog" Victor record labels. It has music on one side only.   This is “Whoa Dar Mule” sung by Silas Leachman on a pre-Dog Victor Monarch (Eldridge R. Johnson) 10 inch one sided disc record - number 3357. I’ve seen this on later Victor labels but not this Eldridge R. Johnson version label and number. This was an extremely short-lived Victor label, appearing on Eldridge R. Johnson's earliest 10" pressings before his company adapted  the Victor Talking Machine Co name.. The label was announced on January 5, 1901, and was in production for only a few weeks before being replaced by the better known Victor Monarch Record and the Monarch Record labels. Today, these records are extremely rare. I don’t see any damage but of course it is a little  noisy but it plays well.  Leachman's biography can be found on the internet along with a lot of other information about his records. I will pack this right.
