Hi and thank you for looking at my item - This bid is for the record - album - lp - WELDON IRVINE...SINBAD - rca victor - - apl-1363 - from 1976 - cover is in very good + condition,light ring,edge wear,bumped corners- the record is in near - mint condition, i see only one light scratch-this record looks like it was not played much at all- see close up- this record is also stamped on the back cover in gold lettering and reads.... NOT FOR SALE..DEMONSTRATION - produced by mike lipskin and weldon irvine-includes-sinbad-don’t you worry ‘bout a thing-what’s goin’ on?-i love you- do something for yourself-music is the key-here’s where i came in-gospel felling- many musicians such as-don blackman-weldon irvine-richard tee-eric gale-chris parker-randy brecker-++-here is some information regarding weldon irvine-Born Weldon Jonathan Irvine Jnr, Weldon Irvine was an accomplished musician since 1964, a time when he was involved with a quintet that won an award at a college jazz festival. Weldon also studied English, Drama and music theory. He relocated to New York in 1965 and formed a 17 piece band that included Billy Cobham, Randy Brecker and Lenny White amongst others. The group recorded seven albums and toured the globe. In 1977 he began an involvement in musicals, namely 'Young Gifted and Broke', 'The Vampire And The Dentist', 'The Will' and 'Keep It Real', all of which contained music penned by Weldon. Weldon penned the lyrics to 'Young, Gifted and Black', along with many other songs performed by artists ranging from Stevie Wonder to Donny Hathaway. Weldon's songs were sampled by A Tribe Called Quest and Ice Cube amongst many other rap artists. He, also, played instruments on several rap tunes. Weldon worked closely with Nina Simone, who performed 'Young, Gifted and Black'. Weldon Irvine was a close friend of the artist Don Blackman. On the 9th April 2002 Weldon killed himself with a rifle on the front lawn of a Uniondale office complex in New York. The suicide took place at the EAB Plaza, on Hempstead Turnpike, just west of the Meadowbrook Parkway and across from Nassau Coliseum. It looks like it has never been played; NEAR MINT - Very clean with just a few light marks; EX - Light marks and/or few superficial scuffs and/or light scratches. An enjoyable listening with possible light intermittent surface noise; VG - Marks and/or scuffs and/or scratches. Still an enjoyable listening but with some surface noise; G/FAIR - It plays with lots of surface noise-many scratches .............. JACKET GRADING: MINT - It looks like it has never been handled; NEAR MINT - Very sharp corners with no impacts or bends, like new; EX - Small writing and/or a small split seam and/or a small bent corner and/or light shelf wear and/or a small tear, and/or light ring wear / light edge wear / bumped corners / small stain mark ; VG -Writing and/or split seams and/or corner wear and/or shelf wear and/or tears and/or ring wear / water stain; G/fair - Cuts and/or holes and/or missing parts.
