Description
Really rare piece of English psychedelic folk from Cheshire. Private pressing recorded and released in 1975 on very collectable Deroy label.
Those who read Record Collector magazine already know that article about this band appeared in 09/2015 issue, only a month ago. So far there was only one copy ever sold on ebay in 2010. Band members state in interview there were about 130 pressed. Of this amount many have probably disappeared for good, some are still in band's members possession, one was recently discovered in a charity shop. And that's it.
RECORD is in really good condition. It's been professionally cleaned in Okki Nokki cleaning machine, listened to, and put into new antistatic inner sleeve straight away after cleaning.
Visually outstanding considering its age. Side A is almost perfect, side B has just few very very light marks which become visible under artificial light. I would call it between EX and EX+.
Playing condition is around VG+. Sometimes closer to VG, sometimes to EX-. No skips at all, some natural clicks and normal surface-made noise. Quite possible some of them can be caused by electrostatics and removed.
Clean, transparent, deep sound even from my budget hifi (Castle Trent II speakers, Cyrus amp, Vincent preamp, Technics deck and cheaper Ortofon cartridge). I reckon it will sound simply great on really good gear.
Seems to be in significantly better condition overall than the copy mentioned before as the latter had many clicks and skipped. You can easily check and compare them cause the auction from 2010 is easy to find in internet archives.
SLEEVE: has some issues you can see in photos. Sleeve of mentioned copy sold in 2010 was in similar if not worse condition. In my opinion grading of records is not exact science. Especially when it comes to situation there is one issue while the overall state is very different. It shows natural signs of ageing/discolouration characteristic for white of sleeves though they are very light & mild. Please examine it yourself as well as labels. There are enough photos to do it properly. Sleeve is made of thick cardboard-like paper of good quality. Looks and feels truly robust.
