Up for auction are a rare set of  WORLD WAR II NAVY RADIO TRANSCRIPTION RECORDS W/ CASE.

Description: This set is highly unique and extremely rare as it was not even available or ever issued to the public. Records are dated to 1944 and feature an authentic letter inside that reads:

"Navy Radio Transcription Exchange Unit No. Misc: The Transcriptions in this unit were procured from the armed forces radio serve for the entertainment of naval personnel. They may be played at the sea or at advanced bases, but must not be played in the continental United States or at any place where the entertainment value would be in competition with commercial broadcasts. They must not be broadcast over an commercial radio station or sound system, but may be used only in conjunction with the facilities of the armed forces of the Unitied States for the benefit of members of the armed forces. These transcriptions will remain in the possession of the U.S Navy at all times. Transcriptions should be transferred by the unit to another naval activity as soon as possible after playing them. Keep this unit intact. Transcription must be played on a turntable operating at a speed of 33 1-3 revolutions per minute. The needle in the pickup should be changed each time a different transcription is played . Keep transcriptions in envelopes to avoid scratching the surfaces. Do not stand them on edge. Keep them from intense heat. Commader Service Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet."

This is an absolute must have for the War buff, with (30) 16" records in total and an amazing authentic case constructed from fiber and metal rivet and held shut with military banding. Just to think of where this item may have been is a story in itself...possibly aboard a naval ship...overseas? This war relic is sure to add to anyones collection.

Condition: The records condition range from excellent to fair...there is no guarantee as to what will play and what will not. The case displays severe signs of aging and damage around the edges.  Carry handle is also broken.  One of the two straps still fastens to keep the case closed. Sold As Is
