Description

WOODEN HORSE : WOODEN HORSE 1972 ORIGINAL UK 1st PRESS VINYL LP
YORK RECORDS FYK 403 <stereo>

Superb acid folk rarity much in the style of Mellow Candle / Trees / Spriguns with haunting Female vox courtesy of SUSAN TRAYNER
This is the first WOODEN HORSE album and is getting very hard to locate in any condition - this copy has a very good lustre to the vinyl playing surface. There are a number of surface marks / scuffs  and mild scratches, although the album plays through well with No skips No jumps No sticks.....There is some audible crackle under the music but nothing too distracting to my ears - NO loud pops - the labels are clean with only a few light spindle trails - no scuffing around the centre hole
I have just played the Lp through on high volume and would carefully consider that the record deserves a Good Plus grading - this album is now becoming increasing rare and therfore this copy is a valuable addition to any serious collection without having to fork our many hundreds of pounds for an Excellent or better copy
The sleeve is complete with no seam splits or writing. There is a small piece of the sleeve repaired / re-inserted at the opening edge as shown - this is covered with a small piece of clear tape on the front and on the back. The sleeve displays some edge/ ring  wear but still retains ledgible spine print. There is a tape residue mark on the back as shown but overall this is a solid sleeve and looks even better inside a poly bag sleeve protector. The original Decca company inner sleeve will be included also. I carefully grade the sleeve as Good Plus.

GRADED TO UK RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE CONDITION GUIDE AS FOLLOWS:
EXCELLENT: "The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear or creasing" - this will be a very collectable copy diplaying the odd faint hairline surface / sleeve withdrawal paper marks only with a full original vinyl gloss sheen and clean labels -crisp edges and opening to the sleeve. Most collectors will be delighted with this standard .

VERY GOOD: "The record has obviously been played many times , but displays no major deteriation in sound quality ,despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects ,is acceptable." - this will be a respectable playing copy of the desired record. There may be a slight dulling to the vinyl shine due to faint surface marks- the record will play through well with no skips / jumps or sticks although there may be come light surface noise in the form of crackle /pops under the music especially on the intro and run out . Any audio defects will not spoil the overall enjoyment of the record. -The sleeve amy have a few very minor edge tears / edge wear and possibly some ringwear showing. The opening edge may be a little worn / feathered. Overall a copy worth owning  to ecomomise or await a substitute better copy.

GOOD: "The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriated, perhaps with some distortion and or mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges ,spine splits, discolouration etc..."  - this will be a collection filler copy. Records in this condition will play through with no skips/jumps or sticks. The appearance of the vinyl will be dulled by fine surface marks. The playback will be slightly distracted by the the surface noise and will sound like a 78 rpm record.I will only offer very rare titles in this condition which belong in cherished collections
