Description
With The Beatles
original UK 1st PRESSING, STEREO LP PCS 3045
this is a very rare and collectable Beatles record, as in 1963 few people bought stereo records. We were still another 5 years away from the true advent of stereo, so few copies turn up for sale, especially in this, collectable condition.

with rare "Jobete" publishing credit for "Money" and mis-spelling
Side 2 Track 3: "YOU REALLY GOTTA HOLD ON ME"
Released November 22, 1963

Without "SOLD IN UK" & with "THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD" label text.
LAMINATED Garrod & Lofthouse FLIPBACK COVER, Emitex inner (EX++ condition) COVER IN EXCELLENT CONDITION
VINYL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION
The labels are a superb NEAR MINT, with very bright titles, negligible spindle wear (a couple of wispy marks only) and no writing damage, and with "KT" embossed around Side 1 spindle hole. The vinyl is still very shiny, with very light surface marks and the record plays a strong EX, with very quiet run-in/linking grooves.
The Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in very strong EXCELLENTcondition. Of course this is a very rare sleeve too, as so few early (large lettering) sleeves are to be found. Unlike with MONO copies, where you can easily acquire a nice looking sleeve to match a nice looking vinyl, with STEREO copies this is quite a task. The spine is excellent with unblemished titles and sharp edges. The lamination is deeply glossy with light wrinkles and one noticeable crease, to the upper right corner, but even then, this barely detracts from the overall condition of what is a very nice sleeve with only a light impression left by the heavyweight vinyl. The non-laminated rear sleeve is in superb shape, still stunningly clean with minimal wrinkling, no writing and hardly any sign of ageing. The flipback is similarly strong and excellent, beautifully dirt-free and complete.
The original Emitex inner sleeve is in EXCELLENT++ condition, with a very minor record shape impression.
The first pop album to sell over a million copies, With The Beatles was recorded over a three month period. While the Beatles had five years to prepare for their first album, they had only five months to prepare for this, their second. Whereas before, songs were written at Paul's home where the boys rehearsed, many of the songs written for With The Beatles were written in hotel rooms or on planes or buses. This record also signalled the beginning of more personal songs, using the word 'you' in the title, to connect more with their mostly female audiences. Beatlemania was well and truly upon us!
