WALTER DAVIS JR. "DAVIS CUP" LP - On Blue Note Records, #4018. Scarce vintage jazz Lp from 1959. MONO pressing with the classic Blue & White labels and the 47 WEST 63RD NYC address on the labels. The label is Deep Groove on both sides with the "ear" and "RVG" stamp in the trail-off on both sides. Matrix number is hand-etched on both sides. Thick vinyl, thick cardboard cover. The personnel: Donald Byrd/trumpet; Jackie McLean/alto sax; Walter Davis Jr./piano; Sam Jones/bass; Art Taylor/drums. The vinyl is in phenomenal M- condition (beautiful sheen) and plays absolutely great!! The cover is in M- shape: bright and clean (front & back), displays wonderfully. There is NO significant age wear, NO seam splits, NO bends or creases, NO cut-out marks of any kind. The front cover graphics are particularly striking. Address on back cover is 47 West 63rd St., New York 23. The songs are: 'Smake It; Loodle-Lot; Sweetness; Rhumba Nhumba; Minor Mind; Millie's Delight. Really tough one to find in this condition.
