Description

Here is an unique opportunity to own two RARE Voices Incorporated records. This set includes two 1966 Columbia record company DJ discs.

One is a 45rpm, Columbia DJ copy of #4-43535 that features the R&B song that was popular in the Northern Soul clubs a couple of years ago, THINKIN'.

The second record is a Columbia DJ copy of the mono LP #CL-2393, ROOTS, An Anthology of Negro Music In America. This LP includes a more gospel version of the song THINKIN'. This is a rare chance to compare the two versions.

The LP gospel version is sung and arranged by Melba Smith. The 45 version is an Etta James style belter, also sung by Melba Smith.

The group includes thirteen members, and on the album songs are a wide range of music and styles, interspersed with naration.

The 45rpm songs are "Thinkin'" on the A side, and "I Turn To Jesus" on the B side.

Both records play well on all tracks. The single vinyl is VG++ with very few marks. The labels are both very nice with some minor ring marks and some small air bubbles under the labels created when manufactured as the labels were layed on the vinyl. It has been stored in, and will be delivered in a plain white sleeve.

The LP is a clean shiny VG+ with a few marks, none of which affect play. The labels are both clean with minor ring marks. The front cover of the album has a radio station promotional label across the lower quarter of it covering some of the artwork. There are no tears or damage to the cover other than some minor corner bumps and some minor soiling around the entry slot.

As previously stated, this is a rare opportunity. I have owned these records since new, and have always stored them in sleeves. They will be safely and securely packaged and promply shipped. Please email if there are any questions.
