Description

Correctly titled “1969 Velvet Underground Live with Lou Reed.”

This was a ‘Priceless’ series reissue identified by the "BACK TO BACK 2 RECORD SET" pink/blue logo on the left buttock on the front cover/ black and white Mercury logo on bottom right. Back cover also has the two front cover logos.

PRID 7 set No: 6641 900 (919829/30)

9198 029 A //2  420 11 3 - B//2 420 W 11     / 9198 030 A //2  420 11  - B//2 420 W 11

During 1969 the Velvet Underground toured the United States and Canada, playing over 70 dates. On two occasions, the first in October 1969 in Dallas and in November at the Matrix club in San Francisco recordings were made.  The band were given two-track mix-down tapes from the recordings for reference, but nothing was done until 1974, after the band had dissolved and actually captures a piece of rock history.

Sleeve:  Laminated gatefold sleeve that opens to the right and retains its original sheen. All corners true and square, no rips, splits or writing. Minimum signs of handling, light corner rub only, graded a decent EX

Priceless promotional inner sleeve

Labels: Original Blue Mercury labels, clean, light signs of play only - see photos EX

Vinyl: Visually all sides retain their original deep gloss. There are a few (very few) light wispy sleeve traces/ a few mild hairlines primarily only visible under bright light - graded EX+

Audio: Plays through clean no pips, pops, skips, sticks or jumps, there is some light dust crackle (might benefit from a pro clean) and light static in places, graded EX-/EX

I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description - the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I have good feedback (and positive comments) as both a buyer and seller, so you can buy with confidence. I am a collector for 45+ years the few records I sell are either the result of upgrades, duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again which this is. If anything is not as expected (or should you not agree with my grading) please contact me straight away, and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument. Feedback: On receiving goods please let me know if you have any questions, otherwise kindly leave positive feedback and I will do likewise on receipt - thank you.

I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
