Description

Vegh Quartet –
Beethoven LATE STRING QUARTETS –
Telefunken 4LP Box – SKA 25113-T/1-4 – German Pressings –
VERY BEST!

This is the acclaimed Vegh Quartet’s handling of the late String Quartets of Beethoven, part of a cycle that has become quite legendary.

Fact is, the Vegh played together for nearly forty years without a member change ... so their sensitivity to one another became extraordinary.  And, by their own choice, with both Beethoven and Bartok, they built tone structure purposefully, bottom up from the cello of Paul Szabo.

Here is the Telefunken release of Op. 127, 130, 131, 132, 133, and 135, in a laminated box with but one split corner and the tiniest of tears on front (miniscule…see photo, up top).

Inside, resides the booklet in fine shape and four stout German pressings that, I assure you, have never seen a turntable.

A legendary Beethoven set from the Vegh, here in mint playing condition.  To be treasured.

For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
