Description

The VPI Record Cleaning Machine caused quite a stir when it first came on the market. Up until that time, most record collectors were just bathing their platters in lux dishwashing detergent or plunking down a few bucks a wash at the local high end store to have cleaned on the magabuck Keith Monks machine.

the VPI HW 16 changed all that. Now it was possible to have your own record cleaning machine - one that truly cleans - for an affordable price. According to Harry Pearson it actually outperformed the Keith Monks cleaner, at a fraction of its price.

Since I bought the HW17, this machine has seen little use. I did replace the gasket where the brush assembly touches down for a better seal. I also glued the lid to its rear section with goop. there is an indentation in the foam mat where the brush was stored. The motors run strong and the 16 cleans as well as ever. there are upgrades available from VPI for this unit, but no upgrades are needed to clean your records beautifully as is.
