 V ogue record company was founded the 6th of May 1946 by Tom Saffady,  an inventor and business man,who build up his fortune during the war by  producing plastic objects and own inventions through Saw-Way Sara Seal   Inc. which later on became Saw-Ways Industries, with headquarter at 4875  East Eight Mile Street, Detroit, Michigan. In this location the production  of the Vogue records took place in late 1945. The first pressing was a  limited edition only made for the press,called Rum and Coca Cola, played by   Jakie Heller and "On a little street in Singapore" by Glenn Miller and his  Orchestra.Then they pressed another record; "The bells of St.Mary's",    flipped with "White Christmas" both by the Don Large Chorus.These two records  didn't have the Vogue record's characteristic R 700 numbering. Needless to   say, what it would mean for a collector to find, or even hear about any of those today ?  The first regular Vogue record was R 707 with "Sugar Blues" and "Basin Street Blues"  by Clyde McCoy and his Orchestra. Even though this is the first one issued on the   R 700 serie, it's the most common record to come by.For some reason they did not   issue any records with the number R 700 to R 706. All in all they made 65 different  records, enidng up with with no. R 786 with "Baby I found all about you" and  "Boogie Woogie Yodel" by the Down Homers. On the last title the story tells that  Bill Haley played the guitar.

Up for auction is a vintage VOGUE PICTURE RECORD RARE UNNUMBERED  RUM AND COCA-COLA  BY JACKIE HELLER  AND THE LIONS ROAR ON A LITTLE STREET  IN  SINGAPORE  BY  GLENN  MILLER  AND  HIS  ORCHESTRA   THIS RECORD IS MARKED  NOT  TO  BE  USED  IN  RADIO  BROADCAST  AND  ALSO  IT  HAS  NO  R  NUMBER  WHICH  IS  ODD   PINK  SIDE  HAS  A  LITTLE  MARKER  MARK  ON  IT 1/4 INCH LONG JUST WANTED TO MENTION  MAY  COME  OFF  BUT  IM  NOT  PROFESSIONAL  RECORD  CLEANER  SO  ILL  LEAVE  THAT  TO  YOU    This is a wonderful vintage record with gorgeous graphics.  I am no expert on these, but this appears to be in good shape.  I don't have a record player THAT WILL PLAY THESE RECORDS .  It does appear to have some surface scratches,NO  CRACKS  , NO  BLISTERS  , NO CHIPS   however, SCRATCHES  do not impact the beauty and uniqueness AND RARITY  of this item.
