Description

This is an extremely rare Sex Pistols artefact. It was obtained from the GLITTERBEST offices the day before the infamous 'boat trip' down the Thames on the Queen Elizabeth in June, 1977. The event - ostensibly to launch the Sex Pistols' second single 'God Save The Queen' - ended in mass arrests. The commemorative mugs were made to be taken onto the boat and surviving examples are highly sought. The mug itself is made from simple white earthenware. The sticker affixed to the front is the Jamie Reid "God Save The Queen" design. The sticker alone is currently included in the exhibition "Punk - A True and Dirty Tale" at The Hospital Gallery, London. The mug has never been used and is in perfect condition. More details of provenance on request.
