Description
The Australia Phono Record Co, 73 Glebe Road, operated in the early part of the twentieth century in Glebe, Sydney, Australia. The company had been founded by a Mr Henderson. A limited number of cylinders were issued. They are now very rare.
To my knowledge this is the first time an original Australia cylinder has been offered on the international market. This is No. 19, the song "Simon The Cellarer" sung by J.J.Herford. The cylinder is announced and the voice is that of the late Mr. Henderson himself. That was confirmed to me when I played the cylinder to his son (also now deceased) in Sydney in the early 1960s.
This cylinder is unmarked, and in perfect, mint condition. It has its original box and lid, also in perfect order.
This is a rare opportunity for a museum or major collection to obtain a perfect specimen.
