THE VELVET UNDERGROUND AND NICO LP
  Verve V-5008 (USA; 1967)

Record is VG+.
Looks NM in regular light, but direct bright light reveals some light marks, mainly sleeve
scuffs. No real scratches or anything to get alarmed about at all. Most all gloss is
retained. A very nice, but not perfect, copy. Listen below to hear how nicely this
plays. See scans for labels. Original Verve inner sleeve included (not shown).

Cover is VG to VG+.
Banana has been peeled and replaced slightly out of alignment, torn at stem but is all there.
Banana has lost its "stickiness" at the top of the body and will droop down if left to its
own, but as you can see, it looks just fine when it's in a plastic sleeve.

The cover is quite clean with some yellowing along the edges. It presents pretty
nicely overall, but there are other issues as shown in the last four pictures:
1. 1.5" seam split on back-side of spine and light creasing along spine edge.  
2. top seam (shown) and vertical seam of the front-side of the gatefold (not
shown) has some flaking / chipping with some cardboard exposed.
3. The "Warh" part of Warhol is missing from the middle of the spine.
4. The "-5068" part of V-5068 is missing from the bottom of the spine.

Strict, simple grading you will be happy with:
NM / EX / VG+ / VG / G. Good does not mean bad!

I will however mention the matrix etchings:
Side 1: V5008 SIDE 1 MG558 and then something else I can't distinguish (a squiggle?).
Side 2: V5008 SIDE 2 MG559
