UNZIPPING THE ABSTRACT
V.A. LP
(MMC Records, 1 a, 1980 + insert)
One of the three best UK DIY/synth/new wave compilation! And quite a rare one at that. This easily matches the rarity of No Platform For Heels or We Couldn't Agree On A Title. If you dig Chuck Warner's Messthetics series, if you read Johan Kugelberg's DIY Top-100, if band names such as Bathroom Renovations make you chuckle and the words inept and genious fuse easily in your musical universe, then this is for you! Contains some of the UK DIY/post-punk-scene's very best (ie Mekon/The Enigma/Enigma) Here's the track-list:

Bathroom Renovations - Intensely Henna'd
Cajun Cutie - Black Man's Hat
Dislocation Dance - You Can't Beat History
The Enigma - Play With Fire
Gods Gift - Creeps In
The Hoax - World War III (feat. future The Smiths drummerJoyce)
If Only - If Only
The Liggers - Pretty Girl
The Mekon - Must Have More Wheels
Outer Edge - Old Wives Tales
Performance - Natural Equilibrium
The Spurts - Boyfriends Or Your Money Back
The Still - 9.5
Undercovermen - Of No Fixed Abode
Vibrant Thigh - Walking Away

I am getting rid of parts of my record collection, so please see my other auctions for more indie/avant/pop/etc.pp.!
