GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : nove buone canzoni basate su musica new wave con una prevalenza di sonorità synthpop. Tutte hanno buona ritmicità e caratteristiche rock. Tra queste: "Break the Ice" (a1) interpretata dal cantante Australiano John Farnham con un ottimo accompagnamento di tastiere, chitarra, basso e batteria. Il gruppo Tedesco Hubert Kah ci propone "Get Strange" (a4) con sonorità molto percussive. In "Music that You Can Dance To" (b1) due fratelli Mael, ovverosia gli Sparks, danno vita a una buona canzone rock con grande utilizzo di tastiere che in alcuni momenti diventano molto intense e comprendente pure alcuni vocalizzi femminili. "Baby Come Back" (b2) composta da Eddy Grant ed in cima alle classifiche di mezzo mondo nel 1966 nell'interpretazione degli Equals, è qui rivisitata in chiave di rock elettronico da Jimmy Haddox. Infine "Thunder in Your Heart" (b4) cantata ancora da John Farnham con l'accompagnamento di una bella chitarra elettrica e sonorità percussive.

I titoli dei 9 brani con la loro durata possono esser letti guardando i due lati dell'etichetta nelle scansioni n° 3 e 4.

Notes : nine good songs based on new wave music with a prevalence of synthpop sound. All have good rhythm and rock features. Among them: "Break the Ice" (a1) performed by the Australian singer John Farnham with an excellent accompaniment of keyboards, guitar, bass and drums. German band Hubert Kah gives us "Get Strange" (a4) with very percussive sonorities. In "Music That You Can Dance To" (b1) the two Mael brothers namely the Sparks give life to a good rock song with great use of keyboards which in some moments become very intense, and furher comprising some female vocalizations. "Baby Come Back" (b2) composed by Eddy Grant and on top of the charts all over the world in 1966 thanks to The Equals, is revisited here by Jimmy Haddox in key of electronic rock. Finally "Thunder in Your Heart" (b4) still sung by John Farnham with the accompaniment of a beautiful electric guitar and percussive sonorities.

The titles of nine tracks with their lenght can be read looking at both sides of the label depicted in the scans No. 3 and 4.
