Description
Here's one for the Bix Beiderbecke collector who has (nearly) everything! It's an original metal OKeh Mother (in other words a playable positive copy) - matrix number 81085-B, of Tram, Bix and Eddie (Frankie Trumbauer, Eddie Lang and Bix Beiderbecke) playing Bix's composition 'For No Reason At All In C' with Bix playing both piano and cornet. Sound quality is superb - it is two stages earlier in the production process than a shellac disc - the mother was 'grown' from the negative 'master' and then used to 'grow' negative stampers which were then used to make the finished records. Very few ever surface and this is a truly important one! CONDITION: N-. As usual with mothers, the spindle hole is oversized (the stampers have the correct hole size carefully drilled at the final stage of production).
