What a trip! This record is such a massive improvement over the debut, it really is shocking. Sure, it's psychedelic and trippy; perhaps it's one of the more overtly psychedelic records of it's time. But what really stands out is the songwriting. The album runs to over 60 minutes and there is not one weak moment or hair out of place. It's a shame this record has never really gotten much of a due outside of psych circles because it's simply excellent. It'll take you on a trip with the music alone! Sadly, the band broke up after this, losing their main vocalist and creative force. Due to contractual obligations, they would reform without him with only two original members and a mishmash of other musicians to squeeze out one last effort. This really is the premier Ultimate Spinach album and is their proper swansong.
