Description
Next July, in 2025, marks the FIFTIETH anniversary of UFO's hard rock and heavy metal milestone called 'Force It'. UFO still had legendary guitarist Michael Schenker in the group, as well as original bass player Pete Way. (Pete died in 2020.) Released in 1975, this was the first UFO to enter the albums chart here in America (even though it was their fourth studio album). This timeless classic gave us a couple of hits: "Shoot, Shoot" and "Mother Mary", and both are awesome songs!
(RIP Pete Way. You were an awesome musician, and an important part of UFO, as well as the other bands that you participated in. You are missed!)
The album was produced by Leo Lyons, who played bass in the band Ten Years After (and had a big hit with "I'd Love to Change the World"). The album cover has several faucets, or 'taps' as they are called in Britain. (Get it? Force it...faucet!) The two models' identities remained secret for many years, until it was revealed to be two members of the industrial band Throbbing Gristle (and who were in a relationship at the time). Designed by Hipgnosis, who's done covers for Pink Floyd, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Rainbow, ELO, and many more. And OF COURSE retail stores hated the cover and made a fuss about it!
In today's rockin' good deal, you'll get a copy of that hard rock and heavy metal classic from one of the UK's premier hard rock bands, on a rare and scarce import 12" picture disc LP! This is very cool, and comes with a discography backing card. The vinyl is in great shape, and is shiny and clean! The backing card is also in great shape. The card's A side is the album's artwork, and the flip side is a UFO discography. A sweet early UFO collectible to own, and to add to that amazing vinyl collection you've got going on...
