All I Want Is You U2 Purple Vinyl: Real or Fake? You decide!
U2 1989 Australian Purple Vinyl Record
You are bidding on U2’s 1989 Australian release entitled “All I Want Is You” pressed on 7” purple vinyl. I'm sick of this purple vinyl that everybody thinks is a fake. I've been trying to sell it on ebay for months. Here's what you'll get if you buy this sketchy record:
1. My record is purple. So you'll get a purple record, because it's purple like a popsicle.
2. My record has U2 songs on it. So if you are ancient enough to have a record player, you can watch the purple record spin round and round as the clock strikes 4:20
3. My record comes in a U2 case (which I think is genuine)! So you'll get a U2 case with two ladies standing on a pervert who likes a board of nails pressed into his chest. Paul Hewson AKA Bono is on the other side looking like a depressed USSR soldier cracked up on drugs.
It's purple. It's a record. It has U2. What else could you ask for? Authenticity you say? Well shit you might as well flip a coin because there's no possible way to tell.
Starting bid: $4.23.
If it's real, this auction will be a steal.
If it's fake*, you can impress your friends or a gullible relative who doesn't know any better - like owning a two-headed coin, but only better! Any rich snob can own a genuine purple record. But it takes real class to have a fake. In fact, your U2 collection can't be complete without one!
Other uses if it is fake:
- a nice purple frisbee
- a nice purple plate with a hole in the middle
- a purple wall decoration - kindling for a bonfire!
- karate practice!
All I'm looking for is enough $ to get me and some friends to a U2 concert this summer. Lets make these young college kids dream come true!
to the bidders who spent thousands on this record: go outside! get some fresh air. I can think of better uses for that money than on a purple piece of plastic ;-)
thanks for looking!
*Once again, no proof was presented to me that convinced me this record was fake, most of it was speculation by worried U2 fans. Inquire more for details.

Bid with confidence:
I have been a 100% rated seller for over 3 years.
I am a U2 fan.
Any questions, send me a message and I will respond asap. Thanks for looking...Good luck!
on a more serious note, here is the deal - no verifiable source has told me that this is fake. What does this mean? No record company, record producer, U2 executive, sales shop, collection company or U2 member has given me evidence that this is fake. Likewise I have no evidence to prove that this is real, except what I got. I got it evaluated and it was not able to be determined. So, its up to you now, bidders!
I've don't care anymore. Its purple, it plays U2 songs, its a vinyl record. I all I want is your money ;-)
Bono once said, "We thought that we had the answers, it was the questions we had wrong." Maybe we should take that to heart. Instead of saying, yes well we KNOW its fake, because clearly blah blah blah, or NO this is really REAL! because yadda yadda yadda, we should be asking, "am I happy with what I have?" and "Do I really need to spend thousands of dollars to enjoy u2?" ask yourself those questions. Then bid, because we want to go to u2.
thanks for looking!
