Tyrone Taylor– ‘Birds Of A Feather’ / ‘Version’ – Micron (JA)
Haunting, very rare roots tune from a singer who would later become known for the big hit ‘Cottage In Negril’ as well as an excellent cover of Bobby Bland’s ‘Members Only’. Taylor would return to this tune at least twice in his career; it came out both on Wolf (a Jack Ruby production) in the seventies, and on Diamond C (a self-production) in the eighties. This is an earlier and much bluesier version, however (matrix numbers: FMM 7452-A and FMM 7452-B, respectively). So rare and collectable, in fact, that although it isn’t a top notch copy, I’ve decided to list it anyway. Exquisite dub version, too; don’t miss it!Condition: VG or thereabouts; visually, quite worn and there are lots of clicks. Still, nothing very loud and definitely no skipping; it’s really pretty decent (please listen to the clips; I’ve uploaded both sides in full, so there will be no surprises). Worn labels (please see scans). Startiing this low, a chance to win a rarity at a good price!

Please note that like many other sellers of reggae on eBay, I’ve been the victim of so called ‘fake bidders’, bad minded people with no intention of purchasing the item they bid on and whose only game seems to be to ruin the auction for buyers and sellers alike. In the event that the record is won by a ‘fake bidder’, to save time, I will sell it to the second highest bidder before attempting to relist it. Obviously, the second highest bid will have been raised, as it were, artificially by the ‘fake bidder’. To the extent that it’s possible (this isn’t always the case), when making a Second Chance offer, I will try to lower the selling price to one increment above the third highest bid by way of offering a discount or free shipping (or both).
