Description
This is an opportunity to acquire a very rare, and possible unique Decca Advance Test Pressing Acetate "You Are The Love Of My Life" by Truly Smith. The label also features the name "Trevor" and the date 20/7/66. The only information I can find on this recording is that it was at number 39 in the Radio Caroline charts on 24th September 1966. I don't know it this ever was released as a single as the Pirate Radio charts were based on airplay rather than sales and I assume the station had a demo copy. As for Truly Smith, the only reference I could find was on a compilation disc of Northern Soul songs. The acetate has a couple of light surface marks and could do with a clean but generally is in very good condition for its age. At the 10 o'clock position there is a small area where the acetate has chipped off but this is on the edge and not on the playing surface. The reverse sided has been recorded on but there is no label and the playing surface has been scored through with a deep wavy scratch running the full circle of the disc. I would assume this was done by Decca. This is quite a rare recording and would be a great addition to any Northern Soul / 60's collection Postage costs will depend on the method of shipping and country of destination and will be at actual cost only.
