Tractor by Tractor -Dandelion Super 2310217 VG+/Excellent Vinyl LP

Tractor by Tractor -Dandelion Super 2310217 VG+/Excellent Vinyl LP from 1972.  First pressing.

The Dandelion label released twenty-eight LPs between 1969-72, including one sampler LP. But the company’s pinnacle of artistic success was undoubtedly this Tractor album which was made in tiny numbers and almost immediately deleted. It is only subsequently that afficionados have recognised its quality.  Listen to TRACTOR with 21st century ears and see how deeply psychedelic the underground still sounded in 1972 – I wish more English bands had been so far out, but this Northern duo’s catchy songs recorded in an overtly unbalanced style still represent the pre-punk ‘us’ magnificently; and the LP is still one of the most extreme sonic experiences of its period.

I have been led to understand this is as rare as a hens tooth hence the higher than normal start price which I am hoping will be dwarfed by the final bid - we'll see.

I am not a record dealer but I would say the sleeve is in VG+ condition - I have pictured the worst bits, my pictures tell the story better than I can and leave nothing to doubt.  There is a little wear at the bottom but actually most of the sleeve is clean and unworn.  The record itself looks very little played however does have some shadows on it from the plastic inner sleeve.  I have played it and this does not affect the play at all.  You may be able to clean them off - I am no expert and won't attempt to do so.  The paper inner sleeve is original and the brown mark is where the plastic inner is joined to the paper - this always happened and is a sign of originality!  I have been as honest as possible and taken pictures of all the record surfaces you can just see it a little of the shadowing on some.  You are welcome ask questions and to view (and listen) before bidding.

Please supersize my pictures which explain condition much better than my words can.

This is from my personal collection and if it was played it was cossetted on a Linn Sondek deck with a Grace arm and Supex cartridge.

Please supersize the pictures which are self explanatory to appreciate the condition, invest with confidence and enjoy this fast appreciating asset.

Your record will be securely packed in a proper record carrier with stiffeners (unlike many other sellers) and if in the highly unlikely event you are not happy with your purchase I will refund your money if you return the record!

Important - my records are competitively priced and postage is only £1 on second and subsequent purchases as long as you don't mind them being posted together.  I am listing records from .99p so look at my other listings and grab an amazing bargain to go with any winning bids.

Record Gradings

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as sealed or unplayed should be mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of being played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging may have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
